Congratulations to our December Athlete of the Month, Nancy Lancaster! Nancy is a faithful attendee at the 5am class--and despite the early mornings she always brings big energy and her signature smile. Nancy is welcoming to new members, and is always encouraging to her fellow athletes. Nancy pushes herself each and every WOD, and is always striving to improve her strength or perfect a movement. A little more about Nancy...
How was I introduced to CrossFit?
My brother Tom asked me if I wanted to go skydiving with some crossfitters, after jumping out of a plane with them….I figured I’d give crossfit a try.
My favorite WOD/exercise is?
I love Hero WOD’s, Murph is my favorite – something about Memorial Day at the box is magical and I’m just grateful to be there, an opportunity many gave up so that we can be there.
My 3 favorite movements are?
Double undies; bench press and cleans
If i never had to do this exercise again i would be psyched:
Snatches, I hate snatches….well my shoulder hates snatches and I’m pretty sure I won’t ever do another one
My favorite cheat meal is:
Coconut layer cake and yes, considering I eat at least half a pepperidge farm coconut layer cake in a sitting….it definitely counts as a meal
My proudest CrossFit accomplishment is?
I recently got 50 unbroken double unders….it was a goal to get 50 by 50 so I’m 2 years late and it’s a one so far kind of accomplishment but it felt really good and I’ll get it again!
My six month goal is?
I’m working on strict pull ups and push ups, I will be able to do 10 strict pull ups and 20 push ups in a row in 2020
If I created a WOD and named it after myself it would be:
24 cleans
30 double unders
24 bench press
30 double unders
24 push press
30 double unders
