Congratulations to our October Athlete of the Month, Zack Good! As an athlete Zack is determined and hardworking, juggling a challenging work schedule while consistently working to improve in the gym; even working out twice a day in order to achieve his goals. Zack has shown considerable progress in both CrossFit and Olympic lifting, moving between the two disciplines seamlessly in order to grow as a well rounded athlete. His contributions as a member of our community, however, are as impressive if not more so than his athletic pursuits. Zack is known as a warm, friendly, and enthusiastic member of UCCF, and anyone who has coached him recognizes the positivity and energy he brings to a class. Zack is a true team player, often setting aside time in a workout to help or encourage others. Thank you for being a great role model Zack, we’re proud to have you here at UCCF!
A little more about Zack...
How was I introduced to CrossFit?
I signed up for a 6 week trial program at a gym up in New Hampshire while I was in college. I didnt actually know it was crossfit until after I got there.
My favorite WOD/exercise is?
8 rounds of :45 max cal bike 2:15 rest... or anything that makes you question your sanity after finishing
My 3 favorite movements are?
Snatch, assault bike, and overhead squats
If i never had to do this exercise again i would be psyched:
Kettlebells swings or double-unders. Or lunges. Or deadlifts. I actually secretly hate working out
My favorite cheat meal is:
All my meals are cheat meals. But my favorite definitely has to be chicken finger and french fry pizza
My proudest CrossFit accomplishment is?
Staying with it for almost 3 years now. I've been given a lot of reasons to quit (injuries mostly) but I've stayed.
My six month goal is?
Be in good shape and injury free in a police academy
If I created a WOD and named it after myself it would be:
Amrap 20: max effort nap followed by a 1000 calorie lunch buyout.
