How did you first get started at Upper Cape CrossFit?
I dove into this crazy thing called CrossFit two years ago at CrossFit Southie, then when I was thinking about moving back to the Cape I knew I could only do it if there was a box close to home – and what a gem I found! UCCF has exceeded all of my expectations and made my months back on Cape so much more fun!
What is your favorite WOD or movement?
The Bear Complex – I love how the movements link together. And anything with running and rowing.
Least favorite move?
This will surprise no one… pull-ups. I legitimately have nightmares about them.
Cheat Meal / Food?
Who has just one? Macaroons, Somerset coffee heath fro-yo and those darn mudslides!
What is your proudest moment?
Getting my chin (barely) over the bar with my first pull-up and my first rope climb. I’ll always remember those two days at UCCF.
What is your 6 month Goal?
Kipping pull-up. Kipping pull-up. Kipping pull-up. (Oh, and not coming in dead last next weekend at the Southie Showdown would be fun too!)
If you could create a WOD and name it for yourself, what would it be?
“Don’t Pull Early” = 5 rounds: 500 m row, 9 power cleans, 6 front squat, 3 push jerk with a cash-out of 1 mile run
What do you enjoy the most about UCCF?
Easy. It’s home. You’re my friends but more like family, you’re there through the good days and the bad ones. We’ve laughed, cried, bled and sweat together. It’s just so awesome. This sums it up perfectly … “You can’t do EPIC sh*t with basic people”. You all rock, thank you for being so important to me.
I need to specifically call out both Josh and Jimmy.
Josh, I owe my first pull-up to you. Your support and encouragement meant the world to me – thank you.
And Jimmy without your energy (and sometimes yelling) I wouldn't be where I am - you push me to places I didn't think I could go. Thank you.
