Katie Pierce Moore
For those of you that come in the evening and have the pleasure of wodding with this amazing lady, you can attest to the fact that she ROCKS! She is truly an inspiration, working even harder during her pregnancy than ever! She brings such a positive energy to her classes with her great smile, funny comments, and never give up attitude. This new mom-to-be totally deserves this.
We can't wait to meet your new little one....who will be arriving very soon!
How I was introduced to CrossFit: To be honest no one... I was not happy with myself and I made a New Years Resolution to change that. I had tried regular gym memberships and well that was useless. So I did some research and finally built up the courage to give CrossFit a shot and prayed my competitive nature would take over. Then told as many people as I could (Tara Regan) so I had friends to work out with. Then a miracle happened and UCCF opened like a month later!
My favorite WOD/Exercise is: Cleans any kind I'm not picky....hang clean, power clean, squat clean, clean and jerk. I also really like the Bear Complex and stringing all those movements together.
If I never had to do this exercise again I would be psyched: Right now I would say putting on my sneakers, but ask me in a couple months and I will probably say over the bar burpees or burpee box jumps or anything to do with a burpee!
My favorite cheat food/meal is: Wine 99.9% of the time, but in my current condition....
ice cream and french fries!
My proudest accomplishment is: Sticking with it this past year. I quit my job, started my own business, started commuting all over gods creation, got pregnant, but I didn't let myself quit.
My six month goal is: To get back where I once was and starting crushing my old PR's.
I can't wait to join in an Olympic lifting classes.
If I created a WOD and named it after myself, the workout would be: It would be called The Luppa (unfortunately that is my nickname.. glamorous I know). Details well I have no idea, but would be one of those crazy Saturday partner WODs because they are always so scary, but I always have so much fun!
What I love most about UCCF: It's all about the environment that has been created there by Greg, Mike and all the other coaches. It is a place you can go to learn and not be worried that people are judging... I mean hanging halfway from a rope could be pretty embarrassing, but then you hear everyone yelling for you and you realize they have all been there before so the only way to go is up.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me these past 9 months. Somedays haven't been easy, but if I get my sneakers on and go, everyone makes me feel like a million bucks!
Don't worry its almost over, 3 weeks and counting!
