We asked him about his experience with us at Upper Cape CrossFit...here are his answers:
How I was introduced to CrossFit:
I had heard that CrossFit people were fanatics and I had passed by CrossFit gyms prior to Greg needing a floor cleaner. Once I started cleaning the floors Greg was asking when I was going to start coming for a class. Once I started the first class I was hooked and all perceptions I had about CrossFit were transformed.
My favorite WOD/ exercise is:
My favorite WOD would have to be "Filthy 50" I enjoy all the different movements. It's fast and challenging.
If I never had to do this exercise again I would be psyched:
I loathe double unders. I will conquer my nemesis one day! Lol
My favorite cheat food/meal is:
This is New England and it's all about the ice cream! That and Reese's peanut butter cups are my favorites.
My proudest accomplishment is:
Even though I didn't finish the way I planned, my proudest moment would have to be completing a marathon. This was a task I thought wasn't possible at one time in my life. CrossFit prepared me both mentally and physically for the marathon. Thank you for helping me make the impossible very possible.
My six month goal is:
Simply stated my six month goal is to keep getting better at everything including those troublesome double unders.
If I created a WOD and named it after myself, the workout would be:
My WOD would be an AMRAP 16 and called "the Tennessean". It would consist of the following: 16 power cleans, 16 toes 2 bar, 16 dead lifts, and 16 box jumps.
What I love most about UCCF: I love the community here at UCCF and the friendships that I have made and continue to make. I love the fact that this my home away from home. Our box is like "Cheers" to me. It's the place that everyone knows your name. Lol.
Is there is anything else you want to add?
I would like give a shout out to everyone that I have competed with in various competitions. Thank you Ben James for your friendship. Thank you Jimmy C. for my new found love/hate relationship with you. Like, Shane Hyde you find a way to make me push harder when I don't want to.
Chad you crushed it in 2014. We really look forward o all you can accomplish in 2015! We are fortunate you have been a member of our community!
